IT Vision of POWER TRANSMISSION CORPORATION OF UTTARAKHAND LIMITED (PTCUL)

PTCUL endeavours to be among the best power Transmission utilities in India in operating efficiency, system standards and commercially viable operation in three years and to create work environment which motivates and enhance employee performance, value systems and rewards contribution.

To Develop PTCUL as an IT enabled organization having world class systems leading to transformation of traditional governance system into IT driven E-governance that works better, cost less and transparent.

This vision is consistent with overall IT vision of Uttarakhand State Government aiming to transform Uttarakhand into an IT driven economy.

IT Initiatives in PTCUL

• To provide universal IT access to ensure that all managers, technical experts, supervisors and staff at all levels have reliable access to integrated enterprise wide IT applications and systems regardless of location to obtain excellence and leadership in delivery of service.

• To provide a high-speed reliable network that

1. Facilitates high-speed data transfer and sharing of data information and applications.
2. The network will be reliable and built to support appropriate capacity at all sites so as to be an effective vehicle for secure information delivery and information sharing to improve organizational effectiveness.

• To create a better and faster availability of information infrastructure
• To provide users at all levels with the IT training and support they need for efficiently accomplishing their work.
• To provide and encourage use of technical specialized software to create PTCUL as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in its power transmission domain of knowledge and expertise.

1. For internal and external communications using appropriate technology to establish a culture of cooperation with all the stakeholders through maintenance and upkeep of the IT infrastructure,
